A Gothic Project är ett försök att samla och kartlägga det gotiska litteraturarvet. Vi kommer att ge ut en serie klassiska gotiska texter i urval och på detta sätt ge en samlad bild av genrens ursprung, framväxt och påverkan på efterkommande litteratur och kultur.
Vissa titlar är återutgåvor andra är kurerade antologier. Till exempel publicerar vi en samling titulerad Vampires Before Dracula, som samlar den flora av vampyrlitteratur som föregick Bram Stokers numera klassiska Dracula.
Varje titel kommer att paras ihop med en samtida konstnär som gör sin egen läsning av verket. Vårt syfte är att påminna och påvisa hur det gotiska arvet strömmar så djupt i den samtida kulturen att vi knappast märker det, eller reflekterar över det. Ibland är det tydligt, som i samtida ”Goth”- och horrorkultur, men ofta är sambandet mer dolt.
Böckerna kommer att släppas i en ojämn, men strid ström och dyker upp som enskilda titlar på vår hemsida så fort arbetet påbörjats.

A Gothic Project is a modest attempt to gather and present the origins of the gothic litterature. We plan to publish a number of selected classic gothic texts in order to give a comprehensible idea of the origins, progress and impact of this genre on later litterature and culture in general.
Some titles are reeditions of the original text, others will be themed anthologies. One example is the collection Vampires Before Dracula which will contain the plethora of vampire litterature that preceeded Bram Stoker's classic Dracula.
Every title will be paired with a contemporary artist who add a new interpretation of the work. Our aim is to remind and demonstrate how the gothic cultural heritatage permeates contemporary culture to such an extent that we often don't reflect upon it. At times it is obvious, like in contemporary ”Goth” and horror culture, but more often than not the connection is more obscured.
These books will be published unregularly but swiftly and will be presented on our web site as soon as they are initiated.
